During stage 1, the 5 micron sediment filter acts as a sieve to reduce particulates such as rust, sand and dirt. In stage 2, the 5 micron carbon block filter further reduces particulates, as well as chlorine. Stage 3 utilizes a secondary carbon block filter to further reduce chlorine and help maximize the RO membrane life. During stage 4, the RO membrane filters chemical contaminants to less than 0.0001 micron, thereby improving the safety of your drinking water. In the final 5th stage, a granular activated polishing filter (GAC) removes any residual taste that may come from the storage tank to enhance the taste of the water. The quick-connect filter replacement design is fast and simple. To keep this filtration system operating in tip-top shape, simply replace the filters every six months and the RO membrane every 2-years.
